Apple River Canyon

Our camping style has certainly changed now that a little camper's involved. So long compact two-person North Face tent on a hike-in site, hello four-person REI mega-dome with the Olds backed in. Zea was excited for our getaway- just two hours west of us near Wisconsin. She knew "Curious George Goes Camping" by heart, was looking forward to new things like sleeping bags and marshmellows, and had her sights set on seeing a bear (no bears in Illinois thankfully, but we did have run-ins with an exotic campground rabbit and a deer.) All in all it was fun, the park was pretty and we all came home exhausted.
