Believe it or not, this is in the city limits: 46 acres of land that was never plowed down. There are woods, wetlands and prairie ecosystems and its a treasure. We loved our visit there with our friends Tekla and Olivia.
We saw three deer, a blue heron, dozens of dragonflies, monarchs and frogs.

Some time in the last couple months Zea suddenly seems to have morphed into a little girl. No longer the baby—according to age and skills— but who do we kid? She's totally still our baby.
We scored an activity table and a couple chairs at a rummage sale down the block the other day. The chairs are still a tad too big but she's happy to plunk herself down in them.
I told her that the kids in LA are the only ones who wear ski hats when its 70 degrees but she insisted.
