Crawling is so yesterday

Maybe a week or so after mastering her crawl, Zea decides to start being vertical. Nap time and bed time have new challenges.

She used our help at first, then figured out a faster way.

This week was also the beginning of Zea's first Hanukkah. Here she is in her little Radio Flyer walker wagon. Happy Hanukkah Zea!

As usual she's most excited by her books. Even if the babies in it are upside down.

Frequent Flier

The movie we promised. Very entertaining!

Halloween

Heather got all Martha Stewart on us this Halloween and made Zea an aviator Owl costume. It helps Zea to be able to fly.

Weekend at the cabin

We spent a long weekend up in Michigan with Zea and friends. It rained almost the whole time but we enjoyed the fall colors and just getting away.

Took a walk on a trail through the woods of Sleeping Bear Dunes Nat.'l. Lakeshore with a forest gnome strapped on front.

She's got her own walking stick.

Through the forest, then the dunes (heavy trudging) to the shore of Lake Michigan.

Zea gets a ride back with her Papa.

Back in the cabin playing with the camera.

On the way home- a new game of peekaboo.

The monotony sets in.

Nice to leave but nicer to come home.

cute cute

We finally broke out the SLR digital camera. Too many photos have been taken.
A few for your viewing pleasure

Dirty girl

Lunch is served. Peas with brown rice and homemade pears. Of course, more is on Zea than in her belly. Zea is eating two solid meals a day.

Half-Birthday and Parent Appreciation Day

Big celebrations for us last weekend: Zea had her official half-birthday ("they grow up so fast" is no joke) her mom and dad had their 5th anniversary (!) and someone else in the house turned a much older age (and we don't need to say more about that). Zea visited the pediatrician Monday, weighing in at 15 lbs. 14 oz. and measuring 26 and a half inches long. She got her last round of shots for a while, handled it like a champ, and was so thankful that it will be at least three more months before she has to return, she slept from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.. Thank you Zea Bea!!

Look Ma, no hands

Zea had been sitting up in tripod fashion for weeks, but as of last week, she is sitting up without the support of her hands. Another update includes rolling over and over and over. Zea has "discovered" the cats and proceeds to chase them by rolling over to them. Cover your whiskers, she likes to pull them. Poor kitties. Solid Food! Zea is a champ and has been eating "dessert" for about three weeks. And no, we are not coordinating her outfits with her play areas as this and the previous post show.

Monday is Zea & Papa day

Enjoying one of the fleeting days of summer before the cold comes rushing in. Zea and I went to the park today. Zea gets to see trees (and try to eat leaves) and Papa get Mikos' Italian ice. Our luck was a Puerto Rican drum circle practicing near by. The beats keep us in good spirits.

Pittsburgh trip

We went a little picture crazy last weekend at our friend's wedding in Pittsburgh. There are lots of really nice photos of the lovely couple but the amount of Zea pics is kind of ridiculous. Here's a sampling:

Settling into the hotel room

Holding Zea's beer

Our friend Sonia, or as they say in the Burg, Saanya

Not closing my eyes

Try to keep the tie free of drool

Sweet Nugget

Zea meets Zeve whose mother is also a Heather

Family photo

Daddy's little girl

Encore... koala hold

They said we could give her whiskey for teething.

Heading home. Early in the journey.

Aaaand we're out. The silence is deafening.
